TRIAAC-TRLC collaboration brings Café to IPFW
TRIAAC’s Acoustic SpokenWord Café’s show on the road will arrive at IPFW on April 12th, with the generous support of The Three Rivers Language Center. The Café featuring Jesse West and The Axè Project, and poet Sataria White will be held in the 2nd Floor Lounge WU 223, on April 12, from 6:00PM – 10:00PM. The lounge is an open area on the second floor of the Walb Student Union.
About the Artists
SpokenWord artist Sataria White is a senior at R. Nelson Snider High School who has been writing poetry since the age of 10. She wants nothing more than to share her voice and love with the people around her and has even gotten the opportunity to travel to Palestine to share some of her works. Sataria believes that with hard work and dedication anything is possible.
Jesse West was born in 1981 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and has studied with some of the best musicians and educators in the world. In August 2012, he began studying the African Roots in the music and cultures of Cuba and Brazil. He has taken an interest especially in the African Roots of Brazilian Popular Music. Since that time he has learned to adapt a number of styles to drum set, including: Ijexá, Baião, and Partido Alto.
