Act now to get on the Acoustic Cafe feature artist calendar

The Acoustic SpokenWord Cafe is booking artists for feature presentations through the end of the season in June.

Our 65-seat artspace has choice acoustics for a small house and is suitable for Acoustic, Alternative, Blues, Classical, Country, Funk, Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Trance, World, and any other eclectic mix that can be performed with a small ensemble. As you can see, the venue is pretty wide open to talent across genres.

We are interviewing and booking artists now. If you’d like to be considered as a feature artist at ASWC select a first and second-choice for  available dates, include a one-paragraph bio and promotional photo. Also, please include a link to a website where your art form can be seen or heard, or attach an MP3 with your submission.

Traditionally we pair a musician with a poet/spokenword artist. As you can see most of the dates are open but I’m contacting artists and plan to have the calendar filled by the end of the week. The music set traditionally opens the evening, playing from 7:15 to 8:05; followed by spokenword from 8:20 to 9. The Open Mic follows lasting 45–60 minutes.

We offer artists 10% of the gate. Promotion on our website, FB page, local media and postings in coffeehouses and other places of interest. Of course, we expect that the artist will promote their appearance at the venue, as well.

What we’re working to build is a venue that is a launch pad and lab space for artists. A venue where they come to be heard and to test new creations. Our mission is the creation of an artist-friendly venue downtown.

Here is the calendar as of January 1. Peace!
