Improve­ments to come at Acoustic Café

The Acoustic Spo­ken­Word Café (ASWC) for 2013 will con­tinue the search for hid­den tal­ent to bring unique spo­ken­word artists and musi­cians, as well as other kinds of local and regional tal­ent to our com­mu­nity. Addi­tion­ally, plans are being devel­oped to upgrade the video and audio gear to offer bet­ter look­ing and bet­ter sound­ing videos of our per­for­mances. Plans are also in the mak­ing for upgrades to the per­for­mance  area to improve the vis­i­bil­ity and sound of per­for­mances for our artists and audi­ences.

If you are a spo­ken word artist such as a poet, fic­tion or non­fic­tion writer or come­dian, or you are a solo musi­cian or band, or you cre­ate visual art you want to exhibit, or maybe you do some­thing a lit­tle dif­fer­ent, please con­tact us for book­ing. ASWC offers a unique space with a unique audi­ence for pre­sent­ing your art form and we pro­vide a proper space for sell­ing your mer­chan­dise. Espe­cially for all per­form­ers, ASWC gives you a video of your live per­for­mance to help with pro­mot­ing your work to other venues. Per­form­ers can also expect to have a tech crew to assist them with their tech­ni­cal needs as well as offer­ing a “green room” with secure and easy stor­age space for your gear.

ASWC is also avail­able to rent for your own event, whether it is a wed­ding recep­tion, hol­i­day party, sem­i­nar, work­shop or busi­ness meet­ing includ­ing a kitchen and staff help.

Many other improve­ments are planned for the entire build­ing to make your visit at ASWC a cul­tural and inspi­ra­tional expe­ri­ence unique to the Fort Wayne community.
