Matinee Afrikan Rhythms with TRJE/RE-Mix 2013
Fundraiser: To raise operating funds for the Three Rivers Institute of Afrikan Art & Culture, Inc., and its community-building projects and workshops, including the Mandé Music School, Acoustic SpokenWord Café, and Straight Talk.

Who: The Three Rivers Jenbé Ensemble/Re-Mix 2013 continues the inspiring work begun in 1999 by the 13 youth who formed the Three Rivers Jenbe Ensemble and learned to interpret and represent the traditional music of the Mandé-speaking people of West Afrika. Some of those founding members are back. Now in its 4th iteration, TRJE/Re-Mix 2013 consists of three high school students, One middle schooler, three TRJE graduates, and the ensemble’s artistic director.
What: A FAMILY concert and mini-workshop, with dance experience for youth and adults in three sets. Join the ensemble in celebrating spring as we give young people and their parents the opportunity to learn and play with us.
